This Professor of Asian History at Milan University is a friend of Malcolm Quarrie and a fellow member of the Brothers of the Yellow Sign. Anzalone is leading the expedition to find Jiwakhar in Tibet which is in fact a front for the 'Pilgrimage of Grace'. Anzalone's graduate student, Carlo Schippone accompanied them.
Anzalone was finally encountered within the cliffs of Drakmar where he emerged from the gate to Tsang as a shambling ruin of a man. Naked, with eyes and tongue removed, drooling blood, his nose and ears hideously deformed by the touch of Chaugnar Faughn. George Withers put him out of his misery.
Quarrie revealed that the Tcho-Tcho had taken him to be the companion to their god in accordance with their beliefs and that he could not stop them from doing this.
