Tcho-Tcho

The Tcho-Tcho are a legendary race of subhuman cannibals inhabiting the Plateau of Leng. The name is also used to describe certain populations of cannibal pygmies in places as far apart as the Amazon jungle and the Andaman Islands, who are said by occult sources to be the result of humans inter-breeding with the 'true' Tcho-Tcho, who are a distinct race - maybe a distinct species.

In fact the Tcho-Tcho turned out to be the true 'ghosts' of Drakmar swarming from the caves to capture the investigators' party and take them to Leng and on to the Upper House.

They appeared as squat muscular humanoids with coal-black skin and large foreheads. Armed with crude knives and spears they showed no concern when some of their number were slain, but instead acted as loyal servants to their gods - Hastur and Chaugnar Faughn.

Their role seems to have been to act as an honour guard for The White Acolyte by escorting the outsiders to the Upper House.
