Liminal is a roleplaying game about the boundary between the modern day United Kingdom and the Hidden World—the world of secret societies of magicians, a police division investigating Fortean crimes, fae courts, werewolf gangs, and haunted places where the walls between worlds are thin. The game is modern day urban fantasy. It draws from real world places, their local history and character, even their names, and from folklore. Players take on the role of Liminals – people at the boundary between the Hidden World and mundane reality. They have interest in both worlds.

Written by the amazingly creative Dr Paul Mitchener (under his Wordplay Games brand), numerous supplements, scenarios and ideas have been produced for thii great game.

Scenarios

I have been fortunate enough to have written and run a few Liminal scenarios over the years, and these I’m collecting here.

  • For Whom the Bell Tolls – Where the characters’ Cabal is thrown into a mystery of forgotten rites, misguided desires, and a secret cult hellbent on dominating the Hidden World  for their own personal gain!
