Andrew Saunders

Andrew Saunders was 45 years old when he died. He was born in Inverness, Scotland. Andrew was an assistant curator of the early medieval gallery at the British Museum, specialising in Anglo-Saxon culture and Viking Britain. He was also a keen amateur cryptozoologist.

• James and Elaine Saunders live in Inverness, where Andrew was raised. They moved to Edinburgh when Andrew was about 12 years old. James, who is now retired, was a Professor of History at Edinburgh University.
• Sister Hannah, who is married to George Keith and who (at the time) had a 10-year-old son, Robert. Andrew was devoted to his sister and her family and as such the brother and sister were very close.
• Jennifer Saunders (nee Bournemouth) was married to Andrew for almost 15 years, although they never had any children. They lived in Kensington.

Andrew has a passion for the study of the Loch Ness monster, a creature in whose existence he devoutly believes.

• Nathaniel Browne - A good friend of Andrew's. They saw each other on a regular basis, often challenging each other to math ans science quizzes as well as feats of intellectual knowledge.
• John Tolkien - A young professor of Anglo-Saxon at Pembroke College, Cambridge. Andrew corresponded and saw John whenever he could. John (who reads and speaks fluent Anglo-Saxon) introduced Andrew to Beowulf - his favourite Anglo-Saxon source.
• Richard Grant - A young archaeology student who was introduced to Andrew by John. He also worked at Pembroke College in Cambridge.

Andrew was killed horribly after refusing to become The White Acolyte of The King in Yellow. The King, furious at this refusal, began to spin at high speed, the tatters of his cloak cutting like knives. Saunders was torn to pieces before the eyes of his horrified friends.

Andrew was bisexual, and while he loved Jennifer, he couldn't stop his tendencies towards males.

He occasional made secret visits to a male friend, Richard Grant - the visits being of an intimate nature. He was deeply ashamed and felt guilty about this side of his nature. However, he could not resist indulging this part of himself despite this.
